Full Cost Breakdown | Sakura, Shibuya & Tokyo Nightlife Experience
Tokyo is a city where tradition and futuristic city life beautifully exist side by side. During our Japan trip in Sakura season 2026, we experienced one of the most memorable days of our journey โ a full day exploring Tokyoโs iconic train routes, cherry blossoms, vibrant nightlife, anime culture, Japanese food and the electric energy of Shibuya.
This entire experience was captured for our BongInOz Japan Travel Series, completely in Bengali for our audience around the world which you can see at the end of the page.
Starting from Shinagawa Station
Our day started from the beautiful Shinagawa Station, one of Tokyoโs major railway hubs.
We boarded the famous JR Yamanote Line to travel towards Shinjuku.
Train Fare:
- ๐ณ IC Card Fare: 170 JPY
- ๐ซ Paper Ticket Fare: 180 JPY
The trains in Japan are incredibly punctual, clean and quiet. Watching Tokyo slowly wake up through the train windows was a beautiful experience in itself.
Exploring Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden
From Shinjuku, we travelled to the breathtaking Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden โ one of the best places in Tokyo to experience Sakura season.
The contrast between busy Tokyo city life and the peaceful Sakura-filled gardens was unbelievable.

Cherry blossoms covered the entire park while people sat under the trees celebrating Hanami with family and friends.

It truly felt magical.

Shinjuku-Sanchome โ Shibuya
via Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line
๐ Fare:
- ๐ณ IC Card: 170 JPY
- ๐ซ Paper Ticket: 180 JPY
Visiting the Famous Hachiko Statue
One of the first places we visited in Shibuya was the legendary Hachiko Statue.
Hachiko became famous for waiting at Shibuya Station every day for his owner, even after his owner passed away.
Today, Hachiko represents loyalty and love and has become one of Tokyoโs most iconic landmarks.
Experiencing Shibuya Crossing
Shibuya Crossing is one of the busiest pedestrian crossings in the world.

At night, the giant LED screens, colourful neon lights and the crowd together create a truly cinematic atmosphere.
Tokyo genuinely feels futuristic when standing in the middle of Shibuya at night.

Starbucks Shibuya Experience
We visited the famous Starbucks overlooking Shibuya Crossing.
Watching the crossing from inside Starbucks while enjoying coffee was such a memorable experience.
โ What We Ordered:
- Hot Mocha with Oat Milk
- Iced Coffee with Skim Milk
- Strawberry Tart
- Croque Monsieur
๐ด Total Bill:
2216 JPY
Anime Stores, Figurines & Dream Capsule
Shibuya is paradise for anime and collectible lovers.
We explored:
- Anime figurine stores
- Premium collectible shops
- Capsule toy shops
- Dream Capsule
- Rare figure displays including Astromax collections
The level of detail and creativity in these stores was incredible.
Tokyo Go-Karting Vibes
One of the craziest things we witnessed in Tokyo was people driving go-karts through the neon-lit streets of Shibuya.
Watching the colourful karts moving through Tokyo traffic beneath giant LCD screens felt like something straight out of a sci-fi movie.
Also, we saw another interesting thing which is unique to Japan. Every restaurant has model dishes outside their restaurants enclosed in glass. Although these model dishes are not edible but they look exactly the same as the original dish which gives a great insight to the customers what they are ordering for.

Searching for Authentic Yakitori in Shibuya
As night deepened, we started searching for one of Shibuyaโs famous Yakitori restaurants โ Tsukada.
The deeper we walked into the small alleys and narrow lanes, the more traditional Japan started revealing itself.
Small lantern-lit restaurants, smoky charcoal grills and cosy izakayas gave us a completely different side of Tokyo.
Incredible Dinner at Tsukada Yakitori

Dinner at Tsukada became one of the highlights of our Japan journey.
๐ข What We Ordered:
- Casual Course (5 Skewers)
- Potato Soup
- Chicken-shaped Rice Crackers
- Cold Sake Pitcher
- Additional Rice Crackers ร 2
- 2 Sake Pitchers
Skewers Included:
- Kurisode
- Chicken Tender
- Vegetable Green Skewers
- Chicken Fry (Special)
- Chicken Sukune
- Chicken Thigh
Everything was grilled beautifully over charcoal and paired perfectly with cold sake.
Total Bill at Tsukada:
11200 JPY
The experience, atmosphere and flavours made every yen worth it.
